General Terms

General terms and conditions of delivery

LUTShop (hereinafter "LUTShop") is the online shop of LUT University (business ID 0245904-2) (hereinafter "LUT") from which registered and non-registered customers (hereinafter "Customer") can order products, publications and services. These general terms and conditions of delivery (hereinafter "General terms") are applied to transactions that take place between LUT and the Customer through LUTShop. By submitting the order information, the Customer accepts these General terms in the form that is valid at the moment of submission and consents to be bound by them.

Customer data and identification

Customer identification in LUTShop takes place by registering or with an LUT username and password, if such are available. Registration in LUTShop is free of charge and optional. Also a non-registered Customer may place an order. In connection with registration, the Customer fills out his/her contact information and enters a personal password for his/her username. The username is the Customer's e-mail address. Those with an LUT username do not need to register; the required username and password are provided through LUT's SSO login. Ordering is simpler with customer identification because the contact information is already filled out in the order information.

Customer information may be disclosed to third parties only to the extent provided by law. Further information on registration and the storing of data is available in the description of the personal data file.

Placing an order

Private individuals
The Customer must be over 18 years of age. In connection with the order, the Customer shall give his/her name, postal address, phone number, year of birth and possible e-mail address.

Business enterprises
In connection with the order, a corporate Customer shall always give the name, contact person, delivery address, business ID or VAT number, phone number and e-mail address of the business enterprise.

The sales agreement that obligates LUT enters into force when the Customer receives an order confirmation from LUTShop.

The prices of the products can be seen in the product information. The product prices include the current value-added tax if the product is subject to tax under the Value Added Tax Act. The value added tax is shown in euros in the shopping cart.

LUT reserves the right to change the prices.

Delivery method and date

The Customer may collect the item from LUTShop service points or the item may be sent to the Customer through Itella. The service point is mentioned in the product information.

If the item is in storage, the estimated delivery time is three to seven (3-7) working days. For some items, the delivery time may be from seven to fourteen (7-14) working days.

If the Customer buys items for which LUTShop gives a different delivery time, the longer one applies. The delivery time is an approximation and does not obligate LUT.

Handling fee

The handling fee includes packaging costs and postage in Finland.

No handling fee is charged for items collected from the LUTShop service point.

The handling fee for publications is €10.00 and for books €5.00. Only one handling fee is charged for an order. The handling fee is displayed in connection with the order before the order is confirmed. We do not deliver items outside of Finland.

Payment options

The items and their handling fees are paid online in connection with the placement of the order. For certain service products mentioned separately, the payment is made through a separate payment link after the order is placed and the university has confirmed the order. Certain service products may also be invoiced; this alternative is mentioned separately in the product information.
